Naxos Island - Cyclades - Greece
The cove of Kalantos is located in south part of Naxos. It is one of the most protected from the wind bays of the island. Kalantos is a beautiful beach with the sea in the one side and a small lake in the other. It is an excellent scene, with aureate sea water. From the beach you can see opposite houses in Irakleia. At the time a wharf is built. If you are a sea-traveller and sail between Irakleia and Naxos you will feel a call for anchoring at Kalanto. You have to travel 20km to reach Kalantos from Filoti, by car and must have with you foodstuffs and drinkable water.

This is the last beach that someone can find if he starts the island-tour from Chora. Sandy beach is located near Eggares and Galini. Just before the beach is the Monastery of Panagia Ipsilotera, that is dated from 1600 and was a secure shelter for the inhabitants of those years.

Small, exotic, protected from the wind beach surrounded by cedars. Aliko is one of the most peaceful and quiet beaches of the island. A chapel and a small wharf/pier make a nice scene. Across the sea we can see South Naxos, Iraklia and Ios. Everything reminds you that you are at Cyclades Islands.

The peaceful landscape looks far away the deep blue of the sea. Small protective hills extend from the south to the west, full of fides and shinies (local vegetation). Hills leave a small pass for meltemi winds (etesian winds), helping the visitors to cool from the summer heat. In the middle of the cove, in 2 miles distance from the beach, there is a reef, called Oxopetra, with a cross gap, where lots of fishes live. In the two sides of Agiasos beach, to Chochidia and to Roo, the rocky coast turns in to lots of scenic, hidden, shadowy and pebble little coves with clear blue water, perfect for swimming.

It is one of the most famous beaches of Naxos and is the natural extension of Agios Prokopios beach. Cedars grow in the fine sand and offer their nice natural shadow to swimmers. The clear, aquamarine waters make a beautiful characteristic Cycladic landscape. A nice picturesque wharf is situated. The tourists visit and explore Agia Anna, unable to resist the nature’s beauty.
